Program Assistant

​Hours:        24 hours/week

Salary:        $18-$26/hr (variable based on qualifications and experience)

Start date: 8 January 2024

Qualifications

• Must have good communication skills and be a team player

• Previous experience at a child care facility is an asset

• Early Childhood Education qualifications are an asset

• Must have (or be willing to obtain) a first aid course

• Police records check with vulnerable sector check

Essential Functions

• Be familiar with licensing requirements, policies, and emergency procedures

• Documentation - i.e. sign-in sheets, incident reports, cleaning logs, and any other forms that may need to be completed 

• Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts

• provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity

• Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children

• Plan and organise daily activities
